Abstract

The present paper examines the reflection of several important aspects of labor relations in Soviet mass consciousness during the period of transition from totalitarianism to democracy, and from a socialist planned economy to a market economy. The author's conclusions are based on the findings of sociological research and surveys of public opinion, which were carried out in the country starting in 1988 by the All-Union Center for the Study of Public Opinion [VTsIOM].
