Abstract
Industry 4.0 brings with it technological innovation and automation, generating a reduction in the costs of production processes, as well as labor, which leads to a change in the traditional way in which the employment relationship is developed. This article, through the application of the historical - logical method, has as its main research objective, to determine the impact of industry 4.0 on employment and the application of labor flexibility, taking as reference the figures and perspectives of the ILO, World Bank, among others, concluding that automation and digitization can bring with it a duality of results, from a negative perspective, lower job creation, elimination of job sources, as well as little respect for the rights of workers by not having adequate regulatory development. While, from a positive point of view, it can be an opportunity to offer new work possibilities through the application of policies such as teleworking, digital platforms, hourly work, which allows the employee to feel motivated to time to do your job, generating higher performance and reducing costs.
