Abstract

The one labidocarpine mite known from bats of the Australian Region is reviewed, and 3 species are added to the fauna. In Alabidocarpus Ewing, the first confirmed host (Nyctophilus geoffroyi Leach. Vespertilionidae, Victoria) is given for A. recurvus (Womersley). Material previously identified as this species from Rhinolophus megaphyllus Gray (Rhinolophidae) in Queensland is described as A. yandinae sp. n. A. fujii Wada, previously known only from Miniopterus (Vespertilionidae) in Japan, is recorded from M. australis Tomes in New Guinea and Queensland. In Dentocarpus Dusbabek and Cruz, D. chaerephon (Fain), previously known only from Tadarida (Molossidae) in Africa, is recorded from T. jobensis (Miller) in Queensland.
