Abstract

Quality vine production in the Midi pyrénéen. The vine-wine sector in the Midi pyrénéen is little known. The vines are of a regional richness that has long been underestimated. The thinly scattered and disparate wine growing districts form a mosaic. Despite its abandonment by regional politics, wine production is important Further more, over the last thirty years, there has been real growth in the quality vine production sector. Socio economic forces are still unstable. The preponderance of the cooperatives is thraetened. There has been a recent development of indépendant wine producers. Trade is poor. The very divided world of vine and wine is subject to active strains. A regional level collective project woud seem indispensable to set up a policy promoting regional wines.
