Abstract

Abstract The weathered landscape of high latitude regions has long been used empirically as a basis for establishing a general hierarchy between weathering processes. We discuss the question of weathering process hierarchies in the observed landscape based on the criteria of lithological variation and topographical situation. Local climatic conditions and the interference of geological structure are also considered.
