Abstract

Research assessment in the Humanities is still a big challenge. The article deals with the evaluation of academic monograph, which is to date the most relevant output in the Humanities and cannot be evaluated by bibliometric methods. The author presents some theories (LCA, libcitation, publishers ranking) adopted to assess academic monographs and discusses the possibilities that altmetric methods offer in the Humanities case. ome studies indicate that many of the problems identified in research on the use of bibliometrics on the Humanities are also relevant for altmetric approach.
