Abstract

AbstractThis article reviews the current state of knowledge about a political party, the Liberal Union, who presided over the longest and most stable government of the Elizabethan era. Unionism is a political project that has traditionally suffered neglect of historiography by then or be considered strategic solution for the classic conservatism is perpetuated in power. My research question is this line of interpretation and emphasize that unionism can crack more so the theory of weak Spanish liberalism. The Liberal Union was a political, original and innovative experiment, which already covered under premises liberal culture, reinterprets and accommodates the key ideas of freedom-order-transaction reconciliation to devise a new way of doing politics and definitely «modern» to be projected into the future.
