Abstract
The study of the relationship between higher education and labour market is a complex study, since it concerns the three main protagonists of the process at the same time, in their different interrelationships: the young, facing a variety of study and work careers, the educational-school system, with its selection of formative courses, and the labour market, which can present specific configurations depending on the local contexts. Moreover, the reasons for a renewed interest are accrued by the presence of some specific contradictions in the relationship between education and work in our country. In particular, even though the more pressing problem, from an occupational point of view, is represented by young people with an extremely low level of qualifications and poor schooling, even those youngsters who have « full compulsory schooling » have a great deal of difficulty in entering the labour market.
