Abstract

Abstract The stratigraphic sequence of the Nummulitic in Gironde, France, is worked out, on the basis of a lithologic and micropaleontologic study of the continuous section revealed in a well on the Ambes peninsula, and interpreted in terms of the typical Nummulitic sequence of the Bordeaux region. Basal Eocene to Oligocene formations are represented in the sequence.
