Abstract

The baby boomer generation is quite original in France in the twentieth century and it has another originality around its sports socialization. Indeed, many vectors lead to a magnifying effect on sport, very supportive of acculturation. Teenagers benefit from an original sports phenomenon of socialization breaking with the beginning of the century. Between sport and school politics, juvenile media, the impregnation with elements of sports culture is real. But, our analysis, which is based on three corpuses (political speeches about youth sports, youth press and a famous survey driven in 1966), reveals a sports acculturation with many faces, showing discrepancies between youth desires for sports and institutional and school realities.
