Abstract

One of the many facets offered by the controversial figure of Peter I of Castile is that which explores the relations he maintained with the Church of his Kingdom. In order to illustrate this, we have focused this article on what happened in the Primatial See of Toledo. It looks, firstly, from the inside out, reviewing the relations between four archbishops of Toledo and the monarch, and then, showing the internal realities of the archdiocese and its main institutions.
