Abstract
This chapter deals first with the acrostic poem from Sir 51:13-30 and the value of the Hebrew text of 11Q5 XXI 13-XXII 1. If the poem is part of the Book of Ben Sira, so it is not surprising that the echoes are found on both sides in these poems. The chapter shows that the study of the Hebrew text of two passages having relationships between them can be very profitable, and people can use these texts when sufficient evidence help explain the origin of even small changes as a copula or other in the history of the transmission. If 11Q5 XXI 11-XXII 1 is to be the original Hebrew text of Si from 51.13 to 30, it is certainly the closest and more primitive than the Greek translation or the Syriac translation in part to the origin of retroversion B.
