Abstract

The recent Law of Civil Proccedure, 7th January 2000, modifies the process of confirming canonical sentences of marriage nullity and Pontifical rescripts for the dissolution of non-consummated marriages. This article is a comparative study of the norms contained in the second amendment according to the law of 7th July 1981 and Article 778 of the new law. It describes the means that the legislator has used in order to achieve this reform, the criticism and problems arising from this special procedure during its twenty years of existence.
