Abstract

The article analyses strategies employed by political journalists at Quebec's National Assembly to gain recognition of their symbolic power in political communication exchanges. These strategies, which depend on a journalist's position in the system of interaction operating in his area of specialisation, consist of a double rhetoric of objectivity and critical expertise, coupled with a method of regulating the coverage of political events, based on co-operation among parliamentary journalists.
