Abstract
This article seeks to disseminate the purposes, meaning, scope and resultsof the program: Fundación de la Red de Archivos Históricos de las EscuelasNormales –Foundation of the Archives Network of Normal (teachertraining)Schools. The program began in 2008 and by August 2011 had organized12 historic files in as many colleges nationwide. This paper describes,in general, the content and organization of these 12 archives (basic dates,sections and subsections) along with the type of documentation containedin them. Finally, taking as an example the case of the rural teacher-trainingschool Justo Sierra Mendez, in the locality of Hecelchakán (Campeche), asample of the types of documents and information which could be recoveredis shown, based on information retrieved from the archives.
