Abstract

The author examines his earliest studies on the subject in the light of subsequent research. He concludes that the aorist is a positive term of aspectual opposition not concerning momentary action, which is a contextual value, but «action with a term». The present is a negative term; along with the concept of «action without a term» (from which duration derives) there are many neutral cases.
