Abstract

Soviet fashion during the "Thaw” can be considered as a result of mixture of Western tendencies and national specificities. The reference on Western lines in soviet fashion isn’t publicised, but dissimulated in the concept of socialist fashion opposed to bourgeois fashion. The transfers of technologies for fashion industry, of fashionable commodities and western clothing practices to the USSR passed by different channels: in the framework of commercial contracts, during the professional missions to the West, international exhibitions and fashion shows.
