Abstract

The author presents an overview of family mediation: historical implications and various methods; the main aspects and the legal perspective of this process. All this, in order to give a synthetic but general vision of this instrument and to further understand a setting in which the couple, starting from a single view of the conflict, can reach a shared reorganization of their family relationships, through the help of a third party, the family mediator, who facilitates communication and helps parents to collaborate among themselves to find a realistic solution.
