Abstract
The introduction to the dossier provides an analytical framework for studying digital platforms for paid domestic work in Latin America and presents the contributions of the various articles included within this framework. The analytical proposal distinguishes three main dimensions. First, it discusses the methodological challenges of studying digital work platforms in this sector, along with the strategies commonly used to overcome these challenges. Second, it proposes criteria to classify the differences among work platforms, given their heterogeneity. Finally, it examines the impact of these platforms on the working conditions of domestic workers and the inequalities they face. To this end, it suggests several aspects that could be studied to help define lines of research on the effects of digital intermediation in a sector historically marked by precariousness.
