Abstract

The war of the Triple Alliance provoked changes in the internal politics of each of the warring nations. One of the greatest impacts was felt in Argentina, where the province of Corrientes became the first major site of battle. The various Allied armies, most notably the brazilian, established bases in Corrientes and these bases soon became key factors in influencing the domestic politics of the province.
