Abstract

This study began following the discovery of an unpublished sketch by Tullio Alemanni for an alter painting that present an elaborate idea, but an unusual iconography of don Bosco. In the aim of contextualising this representation, I review the official narratives of the historiography of the Salesian Congregation and the selection of the artists.
