Abstract

To a wide view about productive processes of a professional activity, in this case, Tour Guide, which composes a wider and more complex scenario, it is necessary to comprehend them in their different dimensions, like economic, social, political, cultural and technical, among others. It is believed that the general training is a necessity, besides the area of specific knowledge. In this way, the current article has the objective to analyze the curricular guide plans of Tour Guide technical courses, focusing on the general and specific training proposed in the course plans offered in Brazil. The study, analyzed through Discourse Textual Analysis, showed that the curriculum organization of the researched courses, are mostly based on an approach highly technical, with the intellectual domain in technologies related to Tourism Axis, Hospitality and Leisure. There is an association between expertise and experience in the general and specific training, but it is necessary to include more components of general training, such as more humanization and intrinsic knowledge to the professional development of the Tour Guide, so that it widely meets the expectations of the travel agencies, of the tourist destinations, and especially of the tourists.
