Abstract

This article tries to study the social origin of the public offices during the “Trienio Constitucional” in Spain (1820-1823). The data that support this text have been obtained from a census of 880 people, including deputies, ministers, counsellor of State, province political chiefs, secretaries of political chiefs, members of the province councils, mayors and council secretaries.
