Abstract

This paper has a dual objective; firstly, it aims to raise the logistics flexibility of Moroccan logistics service providers. Secondly, understand the process by which this capacity contributes to the logistics performance.  Regarding our positioning, this paper is founded on dynamic capacity theory, which consists of explaining how companies can maintain their performance in a dynamic environment. Regarding our research methodology, we adopted for an in-depth qualitative approach, based on a sample of sixteen logistics service providers. We used the interview method as a data collection method, especially the centered semi-directive interview. This type of interview offers an in-depth vision. Such depth vision is very fateful for studies founded on qualitative method. The nature of the qualitative methodology in which our work is part as well as the method of data collection chosen, important round the use of an interview guide for the consistency of the data collected from the field of study. The course of interviews went through two stages. Then the kind of qualitative methodology chosen as well as the method of data collection adopted, make important the use of an interview guide for the consistency of the data collected from the field of study. Regarding the manner in which our interviews took place, these take place in two steps. The first step concerns making contact, which focused on explaining the interview process, acknowledging the participants and setting out our objectives. The second step is linked to conducting the interview based on the interview guide elaborated. The results of this research show that the logistical flexibility of Moroccan logistics service providers contributes to logistics performance. They also highlight the emergence of new mediating and moderating variables; which mediates the relationship between flexibility and logistics performance. The moderating variable communication which strengthens the relationship between customer response and logistics performance. JEL Classification : R41Paper type: Empirical research.
