Abstract
Checklists and rating scales are the instruments used in the majority assessment methods. Descriptive rating scales reduce subjectivity, being rubrics the most suitable and the best tool to know the progress of learning. Errors and subjectivity in the use forms can be avoided with proper design, detailed description of the competencies and scales and training and collaboration of several evaluators.
