Abstract

The dialectic between life and literature as basis of Italo Svevo’s autobiographical and cultural identity Starting from a reflection on the concept of autobiographical genre that Svevo exposes in the article about the Richard Wagner’s autobiography, this paper proposes to analyse some of his diary pages and particularly his autobiographical profile in order to show that the close connection between life and literature is the backbone of Svevo’s work, which is crossed by the common thread of a peculiar introspective approach.
