Abstract

The Marxist tradition, with very few exceptions, always claimed that Marx’s method was dialectical and even thought that his work inaugurated a new philosophical school called “dialectical materialism”. Currently, with some academic serenity, we must conclude that his method is not dialectical. In this article we present two texts of Marx that are crucial for this discussion. Both were used by the Marxist tradition to enthrone dialectics. However this was caused by a bad interpretation of both texts.
