Abstract

This work proposes a reflective journey on the emergence and deployment of historiography about the Argentine northeast, from the late nineteenth century to the 1970s, in connection with national history and with Paraguayan history, attending to the context of definition of the provinces and regions in Argentina, the processes of elaboration of regional knowledge and the conformation of the provincial historiographic fields. We approach it from the perspective of a history of historiography in dialogue with anthropology, political history, cultural history, and collective representations, considering historiography as a way of thinking society in the space -temporal dimension.
