Abstract

The modern individualistic and liberal tradition results in the structural incapacity to support any conception of community which cannot go further than economy based on interests. In any case it will produce just clean conscience. In contrary to this is the Nietzschean tradition, taken over by Bataille, Blanchot, Derrida, Esposito or Nancy, modified by Benjamin and Arendt, which permits to suggest what is called the community of the absent ones, around concepts like absenteeism, literature, time, love, and death.
