Abstract

The transformation of the Roman cities during the fifth century is also reflected in the new concept of space funeral. Simultaneously with the construction of the main buildings of Christian infact , begin to form within the different areas of the town some cemetery, close to homes. This phenomenon significantly changes the urban landscape. The burials are an element of a cultural and social transformation, an indicator of a changing society. In this paper we analyze this phenomenon for the city of Ravenna and Class, through the recent survey data, reflecting the different funerary practices and places of remembrance.
