Abstract
The Guangzhou pumped storage power station, in South China, is with 1200 MW in four reversible units the first large capacity pumped storage power station in China. It represents a technical innovation in this country, the hydro potential of which is enormous, and it is also an opportunity for a decisive progress in operation methods, the basis of which was up to now a very numerous staff French engineering and industry are deeply involved in this project.
