Abstract
The potato has been produced in Mali for a long time, and its production and consumption have begun to play a major role in peoples lives. This crop deserves protection against certain crop pests and diseases. The aim of the study was to identify the main arthropods associated with potato cultivation, and to understand the temporal evolution of arthropods in the courtyard of the Regional Centre of AgronomicRecherchin Sikasso (CRRA). Delta Glu traps without apertures, magnifying glasses, tweezers and dabas were used. Observations began on February 23, 2023 and ended on April 5, 2023. The glue on the trap was periodically renewed according to its effectiveness. Diptera were the most important with around 770 individuals, followed by Homoptera (364) and Coleoptera. In the potato plot, Diptera were the most important (60%). Homoptera took second place with 20% of the total proportion, followed by Coleoptera (6%) and Hymenoptera (14%). Coleoptera, which follow Diptera in terms of numbers, show the same trends in evolution, with a peak on March 27 in the courtyard. Diptera evolution reached its highest level on February 20, 2023, and its lowest on April 25 and 29, 2023. Coleoptera and homoptera levels varied in a sawtooth pattern, with a constant presence from April 24 to the end of the study. Nezara spp. and whiteflies appeared on the 21st day after the plot was planted aphids and Rhyzoctonia on the 40th day. Odonates and ants were seen on the study site, but were not caught by the traps. Diptera and homoptera were just as important in the potato plot as in the yard.
