Abstract

The article analyzes the relationship between the beautiful and wise slave Teodor and her lord the Merchant based on the classic postulates about friendship. The analysis reveals that the relationship of the characters is based on care, gratitude and reciprocity between the two, all of which works to characterize the slave as a kind and, more importantly, virtuous being, which reaffirms her condition as wise.
