Abstract

L shell line intensities have been calculated for proton and helium bombardement of thin targets from nickel ( Z = 28) to curium ( Z = 96). The ECPSSR ionisation cross sections for the three L Subshells were calculated using the techniques described recently by Cohen and Harrigan, the fluorescence yields and Coster-Kronig transition probabilities were taken from Krause and the L Subshell emission rates from Salem et al. The ECPSSR line intensities Ll, Lα, Lη, Lβ 1 to Lβ 6, Lβ 9,10 and Lγ 1 to Lγ 6, are tabulated for selected target atoms and for 2 and 3 MeV ion energies.
