Abstract
Enigmatic Vintius. The epigraphic evidence of the city of Vienna makes us know a still enigmatic indigenous deity : Vintius. Worshipped by the city aristocracy as soon as the beginning of the Empire, it looks as if he were the tutelar god of the pagus of Diana, located around the banks of the Rhone and Fier rivers. The adjunction of the epithet Augustus or the assimilation with Pollux let us discover the religious personality of Vintius, object of a quasi public cult, fully included in a rich and complex pantheon.
