Abstract

Abstract. — There are different forms of isolation which cannot be defined solely by the temporary rupture in material communications. Psychological, cultural and professional isolation often coexist in the French mountain zone. This isolation can be apprehended at different levels : individuals, families, socio-professional groups, village communities and minor geographical regions. According to the mass of mountains considered, this feeling of isolation is more or less intense. Some experimental solutions are presented.
