Abstract

ObjectivesThe article describes the elements of the traumatic moment and peri-trauma or per trauma and discusses their value in differential clinical perspective. Materials and methodsThe authors proceed with a review of contemporary literature on peri-traumatic dissociation and trauma. They emphasise on the notion of traumatic psychosis. Examples of clinical practice of trauma are used to illustrate their views. ResultsIf the trauma has several times, the traumatic break's one, the meeting time, is in especially described through peri-traumatic clinic. Renamed “clinical per traumatic” by L. Croq, it is the time of a one-to-one where electively deploys dissociative symptoms or psychotic-like responding to terror and the threat of annihilation psychological and/or physical. This dissociative clinic is now full and enjoys a renewed interest in the concept of dissociation. But its use, in the traumatic moment's approach, shows some limitations revealed in this story. As for the symptoms of psychotic look, described as “traumatic psychosis”, it can be complemented by the identification of a transitional state autistic defensive value. This, raises the question of what, in the psychic structure, due to the traumatic break, produced figures such clinics. ConclusionsThe interest of an differential clinic of the show's traumatic instant is to give elements to the clinician to guide and maintain a position facing to a real goal.
