Abstract
In the late fifties, a sepulchral inscription was found on the site of the cathedral of Gniezno. It is composed of four hexameters engraved in mortar. Searches made about it seem to date it back to the XIth century and to relate it with the much popular cuit of the Five Brothers in Poland in the early XIth century. In this article, the meticulous study of this quatrain and the endeavour to repare the blanks, lead one to qualify the idea of a link to the cuit of the Five Brothers, without nullifying it yet.
