Abstract
Under what conditions can the SSE provide a mode of enterprise and development for post-growth? To answer this question, this article first looks at the place occupied by the SSE in degrowth theories, particularly the tensions that run through them, its prospects and its limits. It then looks at what the SSE can contribute to a post-growth economy, both from the point of view of territorial meso-economic development and cooperative modes of enterprise. This play of mirrors not only elucidates the problem surrounding the notion of development, but also paves the way for convergence between the two movements.
