Abstract

Two researchers present the results of an analysis of experimental data on the characteristics of radio emission (complex permittivity of needles, leaves, branches, trunks, and canopy; crown transmissivity; total attenuation by canopy; radiobrightness temperature and emissivity of canopy and forest-surface system) of forest vegetation and individual components of the tree stand in the L-band. The results of both surface and aerial measurements are presented.
