Abstract

This essay describes the features and strategies of the genre, concentrating especially on the minimalism of the dramatic universe and on the semi-fictional character of the monologue. This will be illustrated by the example of Marc Favreau and his clown-persona Sol and a close reading of the monologue Comment la grande noire soeur devint la belle trop mince.
