Abstract

The aim of this study is to question the systematic use of high-dose synthetic opiates in anaesthesia. In order to do this, the reasons that have led to this use will be discussed. The origin of hyperalgesia and immune interactions caused by these substances will be presented. This will be done by referring to elements of comparative biology and principles of the function of sensory perception.
