Abstract

When paediatric haematologist Kyle Davis is sat with one of his young patients with haemophilia, he knows how hard it can be—to be adventurous and active and want to play all the sports while having this condition. Having been diagnosed himself with haemophilia shortly after birth, Davis was like his teenage patient; playing baseball and basketball and running cross country while every other day giving himself a prophylactic transfusion of factor.
