Abstract
Health care quality can be defined as: 'Identification and satisfying of health needs of those to whom it is the most important, with the lowest prize and within valid legislation'. Activities in follow-up and improvement of work quality as well as planning and organization of health care are necessary to be adjusted to priorities of defined population groups. The main objective of this paper is to analyze health care quality in health centers in South-Backa region. In this investigation is used retrospective study of work quality indicators and data for analysis included reports on work quality indicators in PHC for 2005. Health care quality in health centers in South-Backa region is investigated through work quality indicators, composed according to the Metodological instruction, prepared by Institute of Public Health of Serbia 'Dr Milan Jovanovic-Batut'. Investigation results indicate to high heterogeneity regarding to presented indicators. One of the reasons of high variations in work quality indicators among physicians in all services of health centers in South-Backa region is mutual evidence of both physicians working during the whole year and physicians working just several months during the year. This is corrected in new Procedure methodology from 2007. By measuring of health care quality precious information are achieved which is the basis in defining measures and activities with the aim of further improvement of offered quality of health care.
