Abstract

Cultural theory is used as frame of reference by both educational science and organizational science. Therefore, it is reasonable to suggest to use cultural theory as frame of reference within the discourse of organizational education. In the article a brief overview of the classical debate on organizational culture is given and central concepts of culture and their organizational educational application (Abschn. 2) as well as recent educational and cultural theory perspectives on organization (Abschn. 3) are pointed out. Finally the discussion focuses on the augmentation of knowledge through a cultural theoretical foundation of educational organizational science (Abschn. 4).
