Abstract

At the Matrametal Ltd. from aluminium alloy base material several type of aerosol bottles with different geometry are produced. For manufacturing some of the tools or components are designed, created and heat treated by the company answering the requirements of their own production process. In this paper, the damage analyses of a backward extrusion die, applied for the process of backward extrusion of aluminium alloy cylinder is published. During the analyses the mechanical loads of the component are highlighted and the fracture surface analyses of the damaged sample is detailed applying microscopic investigation.
