Abstract
The crime of robbery, as a complex crime, is the most typical form of the classic property crime with strong elements of violence. Property crime is the set of criminal activities that are invasive of another's property for the purpose of obtaining illegal material benefit. This type of crime is one of the classic crimes, known to all socio-economic formation. Property crimes, according to their frequency, present the most common form of crime and they, in the total number, exceed half of all criminal offenses. The paper presents a contribution to better and more comprehensive perception of the crimes of robberies that have recently reached a high place on a percentage scale of the total number of crimes committed in Serbia. Also, in this paper, the author focuses on the concept and characteristics of the criminal offense, obtaining information, clarification and solving. A special emphasis. concerning robberies, is made in relation to the scope, dynamics and structure of the crimes of robberies in the area of the Police Directorate Novi Sad from 2006 to 2010.
