Abstract
The present article deals with some steps in children’s development that may be important from a psychoanalytical point of view. Based on several case studies, the stages self dyad triad are presented. Along this developmental line, some particular destinies of children are pointed out as well as the potential of special education support. In this understanding of special education practice, specific object-experiences in a meaningful intersubjective context are required to initiate further development. An accordance of the child’s developmental needs and the special education offering, facilitated by the subjective participation of the professional, leads to an optimal support.
