Abstract
In Indian economy, agriculture contributes to 17 percent of the total Gross Domestic Product and provides employment to over 60 per cent of the population. Crops like Rice, Wheat and pulses are the major sources of income for over 70 per cent of rural households. 15-25 percent potential crop output is lost due to diseases in India. Through this project, we aim to get rid of one of the major problems faced by farmers in India (rice farmers in particular). Over the last year, food grain production hit record high and as a result over 295 billion metric tonnes of food grains were produced in India. As a result, around 60 million tonnes of food grains were damaged due to crop diseases over the last year. Thus, India is an agrarian economy, wherein, a lot of households earn their bread through agriculture. Thus, producing disease free crops is a top priority for the majority of the rural population in India.
