Abstract

A prism sheet (PS) based surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRI) system with features of Kretschman configuration is proposed. The PS contains lots of stripe-type micro-prisms positioned on the surface of the base material, being able to replace the bulky prism commonly used in existing SPRI and thus provide a more integrated form. Compared to the conventional Kretschman SPRI, the proposed SPRI uses a gold-deposited PS where prism and gold film are fully integrated on a single biochip in all-in-one to make it possible to remove the necessity of a complicated prism-coupling procedure.
